LAB3DSCAN

Vision & Immersion

The art of digital immortality

LAB3DSCAN carries out contactless, ultra-high-fidelity digitisation of artworks and creates their digital twins.

Preservation & Material

A work decays. A material crumbles, a colour fades, a gesture vanishes with the one who made it. Our laboratory was born of this urgency: to hold back time and safeguard the soul of heritage.

We hold the present still to secure the eternity of the work, at the very scale of the gesture that brought it to life.

Heritage Manifesto

“Protect heritage, unlock its value.”

Contactless · Without alteration · Faithful rendering

Ultra-high fidelity

The absolute memory of matter

Our vision is to make the digital twin the absolute standard of heritage preservation. We believe technology must not merely document a work, but capture its physical essence: its relief, its reflections, its alterations and the very imprint of its creator.

Technical Standard

“Transforming fragile heritage into digital twins of absolute fidelity”

Risk-free capture for fragile pieces and sensitive surfaces.

Hands on

A work no one ever touches, now in your hands.

The protocol

Study

Study and Framing

Before any capture, we analyse the material complexity of the piece (gloss, translucency, complex glazes, geometry). In consultation with the work's experts, we define the required level of precision and the handling constraints to design a bespoke acquisition plan.

  • Reflectance & material study
  • Bespoke level of precision
  • Conservation & safety constraints

Capture

High-Precision Acquisition

Our capture infrastructure is deployed around the work. Using state-of-the-art optical acquisition systems (robotic where needed), we carry out a complete three-dimensional sweep under controlled lighting, without ever touching the material.

  • High-definition optical capture
  • Calibrated cold lighting, no UV/IR
  • 100% contactless

Reconstruct

Processing and Reconstruction

The millions of captured points are processed by high-performance computing algorithms. This is where raw data is cleaned, aligned and merged to reconstruct a faithful 3D mesh, onto which the exact mapping of colours and textures is applied.

  • Point cloud cleaning & merging
  • High-density mesh
  • PBR photometric mapping

Preserve

Certification and Preservation

The digitised work is delivered as a usable digital twin. Whether for scientific archiving, virtual museography or a digital certificate of authenticity, the work is now frozen in time, ready to be passed on.

  • Long-lasting open formats (USDz, OBJ, PLY)
  • SHA-256 cryptographic fingerprint
  • Ready for museography, AR/VR & archiving
